Shot Rock

Shot Rock

Also known as rip rap or rubble, shot rock is used to armor shorelines, streambeds, bridge abutments, and pilings against scour, water, or ice erosion. It is commonly made from granite or limestone and occasionally from building demolition concrete rubble. Shot rock works by absorbing and deflecting waves before they reach the structure they are defending. The gaps trap and slow the flow of water. Shot rock also absorbs the impact of the waves to prevent damage.

Washed Concrete Stone

Washed Concrete Stone

Also referred to as exposed concrete, washed concrete stone is achieved by washing away a thin layer of surface mortar to expose the depth at which particles that could not be seen are revealed. Timing is a big factor in this process, so it best suited for smaller projects. Washed concrete stone is often used for driveways and garden beds.
